Professor Dato’ Dr Toh Kian Kok

Head of UCSI University’s Global Rankings Office and UCSI Group Business Development Advisor

Dr Toh plays an instrumental role in enhancing UCSI University’s global standing. As head of the Global Rankings Office, he has overseen a monumental climb that has seen UCSI rise 216 spots - a 36-spot annual improvement on average - since the University was first ranked in 2019. Today, UCSI is ranked 265 in the QS World University Rankings 2025, maintaining its standing in the world’s top 1% for three consecutive years.

As Group Business Development advisor, Dr Toh constantly seeks for new revenue streams in Malaysia and around the region. His efforts led to UCSI’s entry into the automotive sector, securing a dealership with Chery. The move has proven to be successful and more tie-ups with renowned automakers are in the pipeline.  

Previously, Dr Toh served as pro vice-chancellor of UCSI University’s Kuala Lumpur campus. He also took on the role of vice-president of Group Human Resource and Internal Audit, where he addressed the needs, requirements, and functions of each company within UCSI Group in accordance with company policy, labour law and other social and ethical parameters.

He also served as deputy vice-chancellor for Compliance, Audit and Quality and dean of the Faculty of Business and Information Science - the University's largest faculty. He was also chairman of the executive committees of UCSI Extension and UCSI Poll Research Centre as well as deputy vice-chancellor for Compliance, Audit and Quality.

Dr Toh received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Malaya. He also holds an MSc in Applied Mathematical Sciences and a BSc in Actuarial Science from universities in the United States.
