Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun, the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, officially inaugurated UCSI Hospital's Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre, emphasising the significant role that traditional remedies play in the field of healthcare. Also present were Chairman of UCSI Healthcare Group, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah, UCSI Group Advisor and Pro Chancellor of UCSI University, Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz; and Founder and Executive Chairman of UCSI Group, Datuk Peter Ng.
This launch signifies a significant milestone for UCSI, representing a momentous occasion as the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre at UCSI Hospital becomes the pioneering establishment of its kind, being affiliated with both a hospital and a university.
A significant moment unfolded on 21 October 2023, as the UCSI Traditional & Complementary Medicine Centre was inaugurated by YAB Dato' Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus. This marks a bold fusion of tradition and modernity in healthcare. Gratitude to guests, staff, and media partners for their presence and support. The UCSI T&CM Centre signifies a commitment to a healthier, holistic future.
Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham inaugurated the Wellbeing Research Centre in conjunction with World Mental Health Day. This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of YBhg Prof Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, UCSI Group CEO and Vice-chancellor, and YBhg Prof Datuk Dr Rohana binti Yusof, Deputy Vice-chancellor, Academic and Internationalisation of UCSI University.
The Wellbeing Research Centre marks a milestone for UCSI as it is one of the first few such centres available in Malaysia. The centre aims to be a prominent research institution in the Malaysian higher education landscape with the goal of promoting holistic mental health and well-being through innovative research initiatives in collaboration with local and international partners.
Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah assumed his role as the Healthcare Group chairman at UCSI on October 4th. In addition to this leadership position, he will also take on the role of a visiting consultant surgeon specialising in breast, endocrine, and general surgery at UCSI Hospital. Furthermore, he will serve as an adjunct professor at UCSI University, where he will actively contribute to clinical training programs and engage in medical research initiatives.
During his introduction to UCSI Hospital, Dr. Noor Hisham was warmly welcomed by UCSI Group founder and executive chairman, Dato’ Peter Ng, as well as UCSI Group CEO, Prof Datuk Dr. Siti Hamisah Tapsir.
Dr. Noor Hisham brings with him an impressive 35-year career in public service, having previously served as the Director General of Health Malaysia for a decade.
Effective 1 October 2023, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Haji Noor Hisham bin Abdullah takes on the role of Chairman at UCSI Healthcare Group. Also serving as a visiting consultant in various surgeries every Wednesday at UCSI Hospital, he contributes to world-class healthcare. As Adjunct Professor at UCSI University, he engages in healthcare research and education, showcasing his expertise honed during a decade as Director-General of Health Malaysia, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. His appointment underscores UCSI Healthcare Group's dedication to healthcare excellence.
The 36th Convocation Ceremony of UCSI University is a momentous event celebrating the academic achievements and hard work of its graduating Class of 2023.
On 18 May 2023, the UCSI Group Human Resource Office organised the 2nd UCSI Townhall Meeting & Hari Raya Aidilfitri Potluck Lunch at Le Quadri Hotel. The event commenced with a speech by Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc, the UCSI Group CEO and UCSI University Vice-Chancellor. Following the speech, an entertaining "UCSI Ada Talent" show took place. Staff members participated in competitions such as Best Dressed Raya Star and Best Raya Table Decor, and lucky draw sessions were conducted. The attendees were treated to a delightful array of traditional Hari Raya dishes, including rendang, sate, nasi impit, kuah kacang, as well as cookies and kuih-muih.
UCSI Hospital, a private medical care provider, has entered into a new partnership with three Negeri Sembilan-based esteemed NGOs - namely ROTARY Club Seremban Gateway, Malaysia Hindu Sangam Negeri Sembilan and Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia. Under the collaboration, UCSI Hospital will provide NGO members with access to top-notch healthcare services, including medical consultations, treatments, and other healthcare facilities at preferential rates.
A team of 21 National SDG Youth Agents came from as far as Perak, Johor, Pahang and Kelantan to engage with UCSI and UCSI's team had the privilege to share with them on a few aspects: Ms Megala (Student Affairs) on a glimpse of Harmony in Religions, Asst Prof Lucas Lim on Greening and Caring at UCSI, Yen (Engineering student) with brief hands-on experience in making Ecobricks and representatives from Youth Beyond Boundaries.
The Malaysian Youth SDG Agents is a revolutionary initiative that help young people to connect with their local community and parliamentarians and take actions with SDG lenses on inclusive and equitable quality education. It is a platform to learn, connect, implement, talk, and showcase best practices in localising SDGs.
The Tan Sri Omar Centre for STI Policy Studies organised a forum on Business Cases for ESG. The speakers, Distinguished Professor Tan Sri Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid, FASc, Dato' Ir A Bakar Jaafar, FASc and Mr Leon Liew Chee Ing shared about how Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is being implemented in business cases. The forum provided insights on the overall of ESG as well as providing an opportunity for the participants to have a networking session with the panellist.
