Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

Life as an Exchange Student – Bi-weekly Interactive Learning (BIL) Session is an initiative by the Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) team of Youth Beyond Boundaries Community to provide UCSI scholars a platform to learn and be equipped with essential soft skills that can be utilised in their future careers as well as current project managements. In BIL#7, a total of 5 scholars are invited where they share their own experiences when they were in overseas under different programmes such as Star-Trek Programme, AIESEC and Changemaker XChange through PowerPoint presentations. The content of presentations include their life overseas, the preparations made in getting selected, their motivation behind their applications, what have they learnt from their attachment abroad and what scholars need to prepare in order to get chosen. This session is carried out in a lecture format, followed by a forum.

7 habits of highly effective people and 6 thinking hats – Development Workshop is an initiative by the Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) team of Youth Beyond Boundaries (YBB) Community to provide UCSI students a platform to learn and be equipped with essential soft skills that can be utilised in their future careers as well as current project managements. The workshop is conducted for 2 days on a weekend in March. Invited trainers include Ms Oga, a talent acquisition consultant who previously worked with U-Schos for a similar event to provide training and session for the YBB community.

Youth Peace and Unity National Camp 2019 allows Malaysian and International youths who reside in Malaysia to thrive together in bringing out their innate goodness and capacity to Connect, Converse and Contribute for the Common Cause (5Cs). The goals of such activities are related to people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership. YPUNC aligns local action with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 16 in promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, and in providing access to justice for all while building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Peace and Diversity Training, this programme that aims to promote peace and diversity and to connect citizens irrespective of cultures, religions and nationalities through a series of activities that stimulate dialogues and understanding. Held at UCSI Alumni House, the programme is attended by past participants of Peace Ambassadors Workshop that was developed by The Blue Ribbon Global. The programme includes leadership training, intercultural understanding and climate change.

Peace Begins with Us (August 2019 Holiday Programme) is a 3-day civic education programme where children are taught to identify national identify and symbols; recognise the differences between multi-ethnic cultures; and demonstrate a sense of respect and living in harmony in a multi-ethnic society. Themed "We are the same, we are different, we make peace", the aim of the programme is to allow young children to foster a sense of respect by living in a multi-ethnic society.
