Background & Services
Established in 1986, UCSI University stands tall amidst many Malaysian private institutions of higher learning. It offers a wide spectrum of academic programmes, ranging from Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing to Music, Multimedia, Liberal Arts and the English Language.

Headquartered at a sprawling 19-acre campus in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, the university offers a fully wireless, cutting-edge access to the world of e-learning and e-resources. This purpose-built campus can accommodate up to 17,000 students.

The Terengganu campus in Bukit Khor, Terengganu, opened its doors in 2007 to medical students in their third to fifth years of studies. This campus houses students undergoing their clinical studies at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu and the Faculty of Industrial Business which has started offering oil and gas management degree programmes.

The UCSI University Sarawak Campus is situated in Kuching, Sarawak. The campus provides a dynamic and stimulating environment in which to study hospitality, tourism, events management, retailing, industrial relations and international business. The Sarawak campus is strongly linked with the industry’s bests such as Four Points by Sheraton of Starwood Hotels and Resort Worldwide, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak Tourism Board and many more.

In February 2008, UCSI University entered into an agreement with West Synergy Sdn. Bhd. (a member of The MUI Group) for the establishment of an education township. This township, covering some 160-acres, is situated at Bandar Springhill, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

Renowned for its cosmopolitan and unique international culture, the UCSI University international student population represents more than 60 nationalities.

UCSI University, through its International University Placement Centre, has entered into collaborative agreements with various foreign universities, to provide students the flexibility to undertake a portion of their academic studies at UCSI University and then complete the remaining modules in foreign universities. Agreements are signed with universities in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

Through its innovative academic curricular, students at UCSI University also enjoy the unique benefits of its Co-Operative Education Training Programme (Co-Op) to enhance their employability. The Co-Op integrates classroom learning with workplace training in Co-Op partner organisations. Students complete two months’ work experience for every year of study. They will have six to eight months of work experience by graduation and stand ready for full-time employment.

Besides that, UCSI University’s Centre for Research Excellence has always promoted research initiatives aggressively in a quest for educational excellence. Many of UCSI University’s academic staff, which comprise mainly PhD and Masters degree holders, are involved in research to a great extent.

Today, besides UCSI University, the UCSI Group also includes the UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre with offices in Malaysia (headquarters), Canada, Australia, China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand; the UCSI Child Development Centre, the Laurent Bleu Skin Science Centre, the Sri Sedaya School and the UCSI Extension Centres located in various strategic towns in Malaysia.

As an institution of higher learning, UCSI University strives towards educational excellence in the years ahead. Its tagline, “The University.
