KUALA LUMPUR, 11 Jan, 2012 -UCSI Extension will develop a customised Executive Diploma in Business Management for sales representatives and support staff in the near future. Designed in collaboration with Appco Group Asia, the Diploma employs a practical action-oriented approach that leverages on Appco’s existing sales-focused training structure. With an emphasis on business expansion and development, the Diploma will provide an avenue for Appco staff to upskill themselves as they chart their career trajectories.

The initiative comes after both parties inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Jan 11 at Appco’s Malaysian headquarters in KL Sentral. Apart from fulfilling Appco’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives, the joint effort also adds credence to UCSI University’s tagline of being The Praxis University™. Designed to negate the disconnect between classroom and workplace, the Praxis approach advocates the application of all knowledge and successful tie-ups with major industrial players serve to enhance its efficacy.

“It is our privilege to be part of Appco’s Learning and Growth’ strategy and we believe that with this synergy, we will strive together toward a knowledge-based environment which meets the demands of excellence,” said UCSI Extension chief executive officer Stephen Corneilius after inking the MoU that was witnessed by UCSI Group executive officer Wong Gon Khiang.

Part of the Cobra Group of Companies, Appco is the world’s leading sales and marketing company with more than 800 locations in 26 countries across five continents. The Appco Group represents and sells products and services on behalf of blue chip companies, reaching and speaking to more than 1mil people and generating hundreds and thousands of new customers each day. Over the last 12 months Appco has commenced operations in Russia, Brazil, China, US, Canada and Hong Kong with more countries planned this year.

Appco was represented at the ceremony by its executive director Dato’ James Greaves, its chief financial officer Adam Bailey and Ann-Marie Dillon from the training and development division.
