Kuala Lumpur, 11 May 2010 - 11th-14th May, 2010 -  A gathering of delegates from Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and China, participated in the momentous Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) Annual Regional Leadership Summit, organised by UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre (BOSRC). The delegates at this event comprised mainly of staff from UCSI BOSRC’s country offices, as well as invited BOS Affiliate Partners and qualifying candidates undergoing certification process of becoming BOS Practitioners.

The workshop commenced with an inspiring speech from the UCSI Group President, Dato’ Peter Ng, who emphasized on the potentials as well as capabilities of Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) in turning around our nation’s economy for greater development. Throughout the workshop, the delegates were given the privilege to draw on the vast consulting experiences of our dynamic and enthusiastic speakers as well as be equipped to engage their clients with relevancy and effectiveness. Four of the best BOS consultants namely Luciano Pezzota, Dr. Dominic Lau, Mr. Raj Kumar and Mr. Peter Tan were there to deliver insightful presentations on how BOS can be applied practically in creating value for our clients and result in a quantum leap in growth, within a new and uncontested market space.

Dr. Robert Bong, the new Vice Chancellor of UCSI University, was invited to share his own remarkable BOS business model in India, which offered ideas to grow BOS business at high level. The delegates also had the privilege and honour to have Dr. Yvonne Sum in their midst, a well-known transformational leadership speaker from Australia, to speak about the Soft Side of BOS – how effective communication can play a pivotal part in BOS Execution.

One of the action oriented training activities  was a live reality show called “So You Think You Can Consult.” In this show, delegates were required to form teams to design a 30-seconds pitch to get an appointment for a BOS Presentation, and another 5 minutes to do a BOS Sales Pitch. The participants enthusiastically made their pitches, judged by the three panel judges. It was fascinating observing these would be practitioners who creatively marketed Blue Ocean Strategy to their “potential clients”.

The BOS Leadership Summit concluded on the 14th of May 2010 with Country Managers presenting the progression as well as their respective plans for their country offices. With a family spirit, Country Managers and BOSRC Staff generously contributed inputs as well as exchanged ideas in efforts to help one another make Blue Ocean Strategy practices more relevant in their respective countries.
