Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Life as an Exchange Student – Bi-weekly Interactive Learning (BIL) Session is an initiative by the Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) team of Youth Beyond Boundaries Community to provide UCSI scholars a platform to learn and be equipped with essential soft skills that can be utilised in their future careers as well as current project managements. In BIL#7, a total of 5 scholars are invited where they share their own experiences when they were in overseas under different programmes such as Star-Trek Programme, AIESEC and Changemaker XChange through PowerPoint presentations. The content of presentations include their life overseas, the preparations made in getting selected, their motivation behind their applications, what have they learnt from their attachment abroad and what scholars need to prepare in order to get chosen. This session is carried out in a lecture format, followed by a forum.

Fine Art of Self-Introduction – BIL #10 or Biweekly Interactive Learning (BIL) session is an initiative by the Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) team of Youth Beyond Boundaries Community to provide UCSI scholars a platform to learn and be equipped with essential soft skills that can be utilised in their future careers as well as current project managements. In this one-day event, participants introduce themselves and their organisation to others through interactive and simulation activities. Participants also receive feedback from the 6 invited scholars with experience in meeting collaborators right after their presentation. There is also a sharing session where participants learn from the experience shared by the invited scholars. During these activities, students are trained to conduct professional self-introduction when approaching people from other organisations. They are also taught ways to conduct social networking.

7 habits of highly effective people and 6 thinking hats – Development Workshop is an initiative by the Talent Acquisition and Development (TAD) team of Youth Beyond Boundaries (YBB) Community to provide UCSI students a platform to learn and be equipped with essential soft skills that can be utilised in their future careers as well as current project managements. The workshop is conducted for 2 days on a weekend in March. Invited trainers include Ms Oga, a talent acquisition consultant who previously worked with U-Schos for a similar event to provide training and session for the YBB community.

Orientation Day September 2019 Intake aims to introduce new students at UCSI University to their new environment and to provide them with the ideal platform to meet their lecturers and other academics. The event ensures that new joiners can establish new friendships and gain more knowledge about the University. New students get the opportunity to befriend their seniors who share their experience, advice and support.
